Chocolate Negroni Cocktail Recipe

Tue, Jul 16, 24  |  gin cocktail
The Chocolate Negroni is a delightful twist on the classic Negroni cocktail, incorporating chocolate flavors. Here's a recipe to make one:

Ingredients:

  • 1 oz Gin
  • 1 oz Sweet Vermouth
  • 1 oz Campari
  • 1 barspoon of Creme de Cacao (preferably dark)
  • Orange twist or orange peel, for garnish
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Chill the Glassware: Begin by chilling your cocktail glass. You can do this by filling it with ice water and setting it aside while you prepare the drink.
  2. Mixing the Cocktail:
    • Fill a mixing glass or cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
    • Add 1 oz of Gin, 1 oz of Sweet Vermouth, and 1 oz of Campari into the shaker.
    • Add a barspoon of Creme de Cacao (this adds the chocolate flavor).
    • Stir the mixture well for about 30 seconds to thoroughly chill and dilute the drink.
  3. Strain and Serve:
    • Discard the ice water from your chilled glass.
    • Strain the mixed cocktail into the chilled glass.
  4. Garnish:
    • Take an orange twist or peel and express the oils over the surface of the drink by squeezing it gently over the glass.
    • Optionally, you can rub the twist around the rim of the glass for added aroma.
  5. Serve:
    • Your Chocolate Negroni is now ready to be served and enjoyed!

This cocktail combines the bitterness of Campari with the herbal notes of gin and sweet vermouth, all complemented by the subtle chocolate undertones from the Creme de Cacao. It's a sophisticated and intriguing variation of the classic Negroni. Cheers!
